Tribute Throwback: Life Does Indeed Go On

“We both gotta die, but you chose to go before me …” -2Pac in “Life Goes On”

This day in history: September 13, 1996, Tupac Amaru Shakur was killed. Lost he was, but his legacy continues 16 years and millions upon millions of tears later. As Tupac himself said, “Life Goes On”. Let’s, rather than mourn his loss, celebrate his life, poetry, and passion for hip hop. Enjoy!

2Pac – “Life Goes On”

Jon Connor – Broken Mirrors

This is a very honest song. I understand what he’s saying and it’s true that you have to check the mirror and make sure the reflection is clear in order to maintain a positive life. Build upon the negatives , and extract something positive from them. Optimism + Realism = Successful.

When Life Suffocates You, Find A Way to Breathe

Stand Up, Stay Strong, Remain Grounded in Your Foundation

Life and everything in it throws jabs and uppercuts, but true fighters make it to the 12th round and are able to reach down deep and throw a devastating kill shot. Sean Dough, Marcus, and Leon Marin do their best, in the way that only they can, to paint the picture of that fighter in the final round. Beaten, battered, and bruised, he finds it within his heart to deliver the knockout punch. Though fatigued and winded, he was only able to do so because he took the time to Breathe.

Mr. 99- Children of The Ghetto OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO.!! – YouTube

This song is eye opening. This is a strong message that the youth should watch and digest. There are alternatives out there in life. Like Mr. 99 did, you just have to find something positive that fuels your passion and pursue it without rest. Give people a good reason to remember you. I don’t have much to say about this one. Just watch the video and enjoy the message.

Remember, you can always tweet me and let me know what you think of my posts @JohnYJArmstrong.

“Can’t Defy Me”

This is a music video by upcoming hip hop artists Sam The Man HQ of Great Yarmouth, UK and Leon Marin of New York City. This video has an almost supernatural mind controlling vibe to it. Maybe that has something to do with the theme of trying to defy the master? View it, enjoy it, and respond back to me either in the comments or on my twitter ( @JohnYJArmstrong ) with your own interpretation and the hashtag #CantDefyMe. Also, follow these two talented artists on their respective twitter accounts to keep up to date with their activity.
